I’ve posted a review of The Photoshop Darkroom 2: Creative Digital Transformations on Amazon, but I wanted to give a shorter summary here.
I’ll start by saying I love the images in The Photoshop Darkroom 2. There is a lot of excellent shooting, editing, and compositing going on. There are also great little blurbs on some gallery-style pages that I thoroughly enjoy. The only thing that I wasn’t thrilled with was the layout style of using a handwritten font and little arrows going everywhere on a page. I can imagine this would very handy for some people, so I recognize this is completely a personal preference. I find it distracting and a little confusing.
However, it’s not enough to keep me from liking the actual content and wisdom laid down by Harold and Phyllis Davis. They did a great job bringing their techniques together, and I have a ton of respect for their experience and insight.
Go check out the review and consider picking up a copy. Even if you don’t like the presentation style, the information is very good.
