The marketing crew for Photoshop just closed a contest to find the Next Photoshop Evangelist. I entered three videos through Vimeo.com. There are some great videos up there, so be sure to check them out.
Starting September 7th, you’ll be able to vote for your favorite from among 12 finalists. Of course, I’m hoping you’ll vote for me 🙂
The process was very interesting. I only recently started recording video tutorials, and have kind of gotten addicted to it. While I am by no means very creative or technical with this approach, I think I’ve been able to get decent production values for the most part. What I’m looking for now is a way to standardize my videos for different outlets: MOGOMedia, CommunityMX, and my own YouTube (and soon to be Vimeo) channels.
The videos I put up were aimed not so much at step-by-step tutorials, but instead at showing what’s possible and how easy it is to achieve. I sacrificed clear instructions in favor of speed and giving the impression that anyone watching could do exactly the same thing in the same amount of time.
I’d appreciate your thoughts and feedback, and I’d LOVE if you could share my videos with everyone you know who may be interested. The selection process will be based at least partially on votes, and I’m pretty far behind in the popularity contest. Please, consider voting for me on Facebook starting September 7th. I’ll provide a link here, and if you sign up for my mailing list on Scoxel.com, I’ll send out a reminder.
